This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced attorney who combines substantive legal practice experience with a passion for artificial intelligence, legal technology, and improving how lawyers work.

Reporting to the Chief AI Strategy and Innovation Officer, the AI Innovation Attorney will serve as a trusted, practice-facing resource and leading power user of the firm's generative AI platforms, including Harvey. The position focuses on helping attorneys integrate AI into their daily practice through hands-on training, practical guidance, and the development of effective AI-powered workflows and solutions.

Why This Opportunity?

  • Play a meaningful role in advancing the firm's AI strategy and expanding responsible AI adoption across its legal practices.

  • Work directly with attorneys and practice leaders to identify opportunities for AI to improve efficiency, work product, and client service.

  • Combine substantive legal expertise with hands-on innovation, workflow development, and attorney education.

  • Help shape how sophisticated legal teams use emerging technology in real-world matters.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an internal AI resource and power user, advising attorneys across practice groups on the effective and responsible use of generative AI tools, including Harvey.

  • Provide hands-on assistance with AI applications in live legal matters, including tool selection, prompt development, context engineering, and evaluating output accuracy and consistency.

  • Develop and deliver practical AI training programs, workshops, individual coaching sessions, and self-guided learning resources for attorneys at varying levels of AI proficiency.

  • Partner with attorneys and practice leaders to identify opportunities to improve legal workflows through AI and related technologies.

  • Design, build, test, and refine AI prompts, multi-step workflows, workflow agents, and matter-specific solutions using lawyer-facing AI platforms.

  • Lead the development of practical AI solutions from initial use-case identification through testing, refinement, implementation, and attorney adoption.

  • Transform successful individual or matter-specific AI applications into repeatable workflows that can be used across matters and teams.

  • Create and maintain prompt libraries, playbooks, training materials, and best-practice guidance to support consistent and responsible AI use.

  • Gather attorney feedback, identify adoption challenges, and continuously improve training and implementation strategies.

  • Participate in AI product evaluations, vendor assessments, pilot programs, and structured testing of emerging legal technologies.

  • Stay current on developments in generative AI and legal technology to provide informed, practical guidance to attorneys.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

  • Minimum of five years of substantive legal practice experience in a law firm, including litigation or corporate/transactional practice.

  • Strong understanding of legal workflows, attorney work product, professional standards, and the demands of sophisticated client service.

  • Hands-on experience using generative AI tools such as Harvey, Legora, ChatGPT, or Claude, including familiarity with prompt and context engineering.

  • Harvey experience strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience or substantial involvement in legal AI implementation, attorney training, workflow development, or related innovation initiatives. Candidates already working in dedicated legal AI or innovation roles are particularly encouraged to apply.

  • Experience developing AI prompts, agents, or workflows preferred, ideally approximately three years, although flexibility exists for candidates with otherwise compelling qualifications.

  • Prior experience leading attorney AI training and implementation initiatives strongly preferred.

  • Recent substantive legal practice experience preferred, ideally within the past several years.

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and credibly to attorneys, including senior lawyers and practice leaders.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, presentation, and organizational skills, with an interest in experimenting with and refining technology-enabled legal solutions.

  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced, collaborative professional environment.
