Our client, a well-established and growing professional services organization, is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Manager to join its New Jersey office. This highly visible role will oversee the firm's multi-state payroll operations and comprehensive benefits programs while partnering closely with HR, Finance, and Firm Leadership to ensure an exceptional employee experience. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining compliance, enhancing processes, and supporting strategic initiatives across the organization.

The Payroll & Benefits Manager will be responsible for end-to-end payroll administration, benefits management, regulatory compliance, vendor relationships, open enrollment, and employee support. This individual will also lead payroll and benefits audits, oversee reporting requirements including W-2s, ACA filings, and 401(k) compliance, and drive continuous process improvements and system enhancements. Candidates should have 5+ years of payroll and benefits experience, strong multi-state payroll expertise, advanced Excel skills, and experience with ADP or similar HRIS platforms. Law firm or professional services experience is highly preferred, and CPP, PHR, or SHRM-CP certifications are a plus.
