Project Overview:
We seek an experienced Electric Distribution Field Inspector to support a long-term utility infrastructure project in Norton, VA. This five-year engagement involves oversight of contractor activities related to the construction and maintenance of the Owner’s electric distribution system.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform visible field inspections to ensure contractor compliance with safety standards, project design specifications, and contract requirements.

• Monitor construction activities and provide real-time quality assurance for work performed on the electric distribution system.

• Support field services such as:

  • Electrical system inventories and audits

  • Joint use permitting and management

  • Pad-mount and ground-line pole inspections

  • Metering and apparatus services

  • Lighting system audits

• Identify potential project risks, including design discrepancies, material shortages, contractor performance concerns, access limitations, and customer conflicts.

• Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to resolve field issues and maintain project timelines.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in electric utility construction, inspection, or maintenance.

• Strong knowledge of electric distribution systems and safety standards.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and in varying field conditions.

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
