Job Description
This role is vital in promoting a safety culture, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and protecting the well-being of field and office staff. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to conduct safety training, investigate incidents, and implement proactive safety measures across utility-based operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures.
- Develop and deliver classroom safety training, including onboarding, Safety Awareness, and LOTO procedures.
- Conduct job site safety assessments, identify hazards, and establish mitigation plans.
- Perform field audits to assess compliance, document conditions, and provide coaching on safe work practices.
- Maintain current safety manuals and documentation in alignment with industry standards.
- Manage OSHA logs, injury records, and safety-related documentation for the company and its entities.
- Lead incident and near-miss investigations, identify root causes, and implement preventive strategies.
- Submit safety reports and documentation to Clients per contractual and regulatory timelines.
- Establish or improve safety procedures where needed and ensure proper communication with staff.
- Prepare monthly safety messages with tips relevant to both workplace and home safety.
Required Qualifications:
- Safety management experience in Distribution, Electric Utility, Transmission, or Substation settings.
- Strong incident investigation skills, with the ability to identify root causes and present findings clearly.
- Effective communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Ability to work independently in both field and office environments.
- Proven decision-making skills, especially in dynamic field conditions.
