Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Coordinate probate court filings and recordings, including research and familiarity with local rules and probate court
- Prepare probate administration paperwork, including administration accounts, court petitions, orders, deeds, certifications, etc.
- Coordinate post-death non-probate administration
- Communicate with clients and professional advisors relating to routine acts of estate administration
- Prepare Gift Tax, Estate Tax, and Fiduciary income tax returns.
- Input financial data to prepare and file accountings
- Work with clients’ financial advisors on proper titling of accounts

Education & Experience
- 5+ years of experience working as a trust and estate paralegal with minimal supervision
- High school diploma or GED – Bachelors degree or paralegal certificate preferred
- Experience in Maryland State Probate administration and knowledge of estate planning documents and concepts
- Experience in local probate administration
- Experience with GEMs, OneSource Estate and Trust, and CCH ProSystems platform a plus
- Must know how to prepare gift tax, estate tax, and fiduciary income tax returns
- Self-motivated, flexible, with exceptional follow-through skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

Additional Information
- Individual in this position will provide additional assistance and support as directed by their supervisor.
- Candidate must be flexible and able to work in the office at a minimum 2-3 times a week.
- Job may require occasional travel to the firm’s other offices
