Job Description

GROW by NECIC is looking for a friendly, dependable, and motivated Retail Shift Lead to join our team!

We are looking for someone who enjoys helping customers, leading a team, and keeping things running smoothly.

GROW is more than just a store! We support local farmers, provide fresh food to our community, and help young people develop valuable job skills.

As a Shift Lead, you will help manage daily store and café operations, support employees, and make sure every customer has a great experience.

What You'll Do

• Help open and close the store and café.
• Lead and support team members during your shift.
• Greet customers and provide excellent customer service.
• Operate the cash register and handle payments.
• Stock shelves, organize displays, and monitor inventory.
• Keep the store clean, safe, and welcoming.
• Help train and guide employees, youth participants, and volunteers.
• Work with our Farm Team to stock and display fresh produce.
• Assist with special events, promotions, and community activities.
• Communicate any concerns or issues to the Store Manager.

What We're Looking For

• Previous retail, grocery, or customer service experience preferred.
• Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.
• Friendly, dependable, and professional attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to handle money and use a cash register.
• Willingness to take initiative and solve problems.
• Ability to stay organized and multitask.
• Enjoys working with people and helping others learn.
• Flexible availability, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
