RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Director of Engineering in Remote. This is a full-time direct-hire Remote EXEMPT assignment with our client. This position offers a competitive package including benefits, vacation and holidays.

Overview of YOUR role as a Director of Engineering

As a Director of Engineering, you will lead and manage a functional area as a high-performing business unit, driving operational execution, client growth, and financial performance. You will translate company strategy into functional execution by leading Discipline Managers, establishing standards, and ensuring alignment with company-wide priorities. This role requires a senior leader who can drive accountability, foster a culture of ownership, and position the functional area as a practice growth leader.

As a Director of Engineering YOU will:

· Provide overall leadership, management, and accountability for the functional area
· Lead Discipline Managers to deliver consistent performance across all teams
· Establish clear roles, expectations, and accountability throughout the functional area
· Identify and remove barriers to performance by escalating and resolving issues
· Drive a culture of ownership, performance, and continuous improvement
· Champion company core values while fostering accountability and operational excellence
· Translate company vision and strategic priorities into functional objectives and execution plans
· Lead functional area growth through client development, account expansion, and new business pursuit
· Grow existing client relationships through consistent engagement and delivery excellence
· Identify new opportunities within current accounts and support pursuit of new clients
· Lead proposal development including scope definition, estimating, and team structure
· Ensure strong client satisfaction through proactive communication and issue resolution
· Forecast revenue, backlog, and resource needs for the functional area
· Operate within established budgetary guardrails while driving profitability
· Track, analyze, and report on functional area KPIs including utilization, forecast accuracy, on-time delivery, and client growth

YOU are the ideal Director of Engineering candidate if you have:

· Professional Engineer (PE) license (required)
· Proven experience in senior leadership and functional area management
· Demonstrated success leading and developing management-level direct reports
· Strong business acumen including financial management, forecasting, and profit-center operations
· Extensive client relationship management and business development experience
· Strategic thinking with ability to translate company vision into operational execution
· Experience driving organizational change and establishing performance standards
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
· Understanding of engineering, design, and drafting disciplines
· Track record of building high-performing teams and fostering accountability culture

It's a BONUS if you have:

· Experience in natural gas or energy infrastructure sectors
· Proposal development and estimating experience
· Experience managing multiple revenue streams or business units
· Background in establishing and implementing company-wide standards and procedures
