Maintenance Technician

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Rotating 2-2-3 Schedule
Pay: $28.69/hour + $1.50/hour Shift Premium

Position Overview

M Force Partners is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support production equipment reliability within a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, building, fabricating, modifying, and maintaining automated production machinery while supporting safety, quality, and production goals.

The ideal Maintenance Technician has strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills with hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, PLCs, robotics, servo systems, and AC/DC electrical systems. Experience with Omron PLCs is highly preferred.

This Maintenance Technician will work a rotating 12-hour night schedule and should be comfortable independently diagnosing equipment problems, responding to production breakdowns, and performing preventive maintenance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, build, fabricate, modify, and relocate production machinery
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, automation, and equipment performance issues
  • Perform preventive maintenance on production machines and facility equipment
  • Program and troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, with Omron experience preferred
  • Troubleshoot and support industrial robotics and servo systems
  • Perform machine programming, calibration, adjustments, and design modifications as needed
  • Troubleshoot AC/DC electrical systems and work safely around high-voltage equipment
  • Fabricate and modify machine components and parts as necessary
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and work to minimize production downtime
  • Maintain accurate documentation for equipment breakdowns, preventive maintenance, repairs, and Kaizen activities
  • Identify and recommend equipment and process improvements to increase efficiency and reliability
  • Operate forklifts and other industrial equipment as required
  • Communicate equipment problems, maintenance activities, and repair status with Production and other departments
  • Maintain established 5S standards throughout maintenance and production areas
  • Follow equipment operating instructions, safety procedures, and company policies
  • Support continuous improvement and employee involvement initiatives
  • Support applicable IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 requirements
  • Perform maintenance responsibilities independently with minimal supervision
  • Work overtime as required to support manufacturing operations
  • Perform additional maintenance responsibilities as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2-year technical degree and/or 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience or related manufacturing experience with specialized technical training
  • 1-3 years of experience working with AC/DC electrical systems in an industrial maintenance environment
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • PLC programming and troubleshooting experience
  • Working knowledge of industrial robotics and servo systems
  • Ability to read and understand equipment operating instructions and technical documentation
  • Ability to fabricate or modify machine components as needed
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to communicate maintenance problems, repairs, and technical information effectively
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work a rotating 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM 2-2-3 schedule
  • Ability to work overtime as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Omron PLC programming and troubleshooting experience
  • Technical degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field
  • Experience maintaining automated manufacturing equipment
  • Hands-on robotics and servo troubleshooting experience
  • Experience with machine fabrication, modification, and equipment relocation
  • Experience in an IATF 16949, ISO 9001, or ISO 14001 manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Kaizen, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and move for 8-12 hours per shift
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and kneel for extended periods
  • Ability to apply up to 66 pounds of push/pull force without assistance
  • Ability to reach overhead
  • Ability to safely work in confined spaces and elevated locations
  • Ability to safely perform maintenance activities involving high-voltage electrical systems
  • Ability to operate a forklift as required
