General Manager (Scenter Manager) | Scenthound (McKinney, TX)

Compensation: $55,000 base + performance bonus up to $12,000 | Health insurance

Schedule: Full-time | 5-day work week, including early opens and Saturdays

Anticipated Start Date: Immediate

About the Opportunity

This is not a traditional retail management role.

You will lead an established McKinney location with a loyal member base and a strong team. This role is built for an operator who can step in, raise the bar on member experience, and keep the team performing at a high level without needing daily oversight. 

You will run this location with real autonomy: your team, your performance, your results. Ownership is a partner and resource, not an on-site supervisor. For the right leader, this role is positioned to grow into an Area Manager position as the North Texas portfolio expands.

The Role

As Scenter Manager, you'll own your store's performance, from team development and customer satisfaction to revenue growth and membership sales. You'll lead from the front, setting the tone for service excellence while meeting and exceeding key business goals.

This role combines sales strategy, people leadership, and operational execution. It is built for someone who is confident in influencing others, measuring results, and turning great experiences into long-term members.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Growth

• Drive membership and revenue goals through consultative, relationship-based selling.
• Set and track weekly and monthly KPIs for sales performance, conversion rates, and member retention.
• Train and motivate your team to confidently educate every customer on Scenthound memberships and services.
• Protect and grow the existing member base through a consistent, high-quality member experience.
• Partner with ownership to execute local marketing and community outreach initiatives.

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, coach, and inspire your team to achieve sales and service excellence.
• Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and train team members. You own your team end to end.
• Create a positive, competitive environment that celebrates wins and encourages accountability.
• Foster a culture of empowerment and customer-first thinking.

Operations & Customer Experience

• Own store performance and key financial metrics in partnership with ownership. 
• Ensure smooth daily operations and adherence to Scenthound's service standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for dogs and their owners.
• Oversee scheduling, inventory, and front-of-house presentation.

Experience

• 2+ years leading a team in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment, as a GM or an assistant manager in a high-volume operation
• Sales mindset, with a track record of meeting goals and comfort asking for the sale
• Experience coaching and holding a team accountable, especially younger or first-job employees
• Coachable, with ambition to grow into multi-unit leadership
• Membership or recurring-revenue experience is a plus
• Comfortable with early opens, Saturdays, and a hands-on role
• Based in or able to commute to the McKinney area (Frisco, Allen, Plano, Prosper)
