Compensation: $30–$40/hour, commensurate with experience, as a W2 employee of C2
Technology: Talent must provide their own hardware and software, including Adobe InDesign; the client provides access to internal systems

Job Description

Architects, lighting designers, and specifiers rely on these specification sheets to select fixtures, so each one carries real weight in a project. This engagement refreshes the full library in a single push.

Success here belongs to a technical publications designer with advanced InDesign skills and the precision and consistency to treat sheet 600 with the same care as sheet one. The work is asynchronous and self-directed.

Responsibilities:

  • Migrate each specification sheet from the legacy layout into the new InDesign template
  • Incorporate feature upgrades across nearly every product, revising sheets as directed
  • Audit existing copy and data for accuracy on every page
  • Apply typography, layout, and formatting standards consistently throughout the library
  • Confirm changes with stakeholders, flagging questions and discrepancies as they surface
  • Deliver final, publication-ready files on a schedule that keeps this high-volume project on track

Requirements:

  • Advanced Adobe InDesign proficiency, including parent pages, paragraph and character styles, and template-driven production
  • Demonstrated experience completing large-volume document updates, such as product catalogs, specification sheet libraries, or technical manuals, while maintaining consistency across hundreds of files
  • Ability to format technical data, including dimensions, electrical ratings, and mounting details, with precision
  • Ability to work asynchronously and independently, communicate clearly, and remain available during Central Time business hours
