Summary:
The Software QA Engineer will work with the Software Development team to test and maintain proprietary application functionality. In addition to reviewing code and developing automated test scripts, the Software QA Engineer will be required to manually verify application performance through functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, acceptance testing, and system testing. This role will center on application quality, application reliability, and application maintainability while improving user experience and meeting enterprise needs.
What you will do:
In this role, you will be tasked with spearheading the automation of our functional test suite. This will involve knowledge of new and established testing tools and technologies, as well as proactively identifying opportunities where these innovations can be leveraged to enhance our Software Development Lifecycle. You will be expected to take ownership of this automated testing implementation. This includes planning, coordinating, and executing the necessary steps to seamlessly integrate new solutions into our current Software Development Lifecycle, while minimizing disruptions and ensuring application stability. You will work closely with the Software Development team to understand and analyze pull requests. Day to Day activities:
● Participate in the architecture, build out, and modification of new and existing data pipelines and platforms used for serving enterprise data analytics ● Modify and maintain existing source databases including the databases for multiple in-house applications with direction or request from software development ● Maintain systems intended for change data capture such as Microsoft SQL Server CDC or similar ● Work with the cloud infrastructure team on delivering cloud native database and data platform technologies including setup, maintenance, access control and governance, disaster recovery, and more ● Participate in leading the implementation of data strategies and provide insights and suggestions on how to achieve business objectives using data ● Develop processes and procedures related to data development and delivery including diagrams and written documentation ● Implementation and maintenance of data change management to meet regulatory compliance requirements ● Resolve data related issues and tickets escalated from application support including report and dashboard modifications, backend report running, data corrections, and other support duties as assigned according to SLAs and business requirements ● Work alongside other data focused team members for the purpose of delivering data required to drive AI and machine learning workloads
Qualifications: ● Expert level understanding of modern data architectures and the benefits of different data storage, transformation, and delivery strategies ● Ability to work with Microsoft SQL Server databases with the purpose of optimizing performance, modifying stored procedures, and working with software development to analyze queries from ORMs for performance or other reasons ● Strong understanding of change data capture strategies and relation technologies, especially SQL Server CDC ● Proven ability to work with cloud native database, data warehouse, data lake, and data platform technologies like AWS RDS, Databricks, AWS Redshift, and AWS S3 used as a data lake ● Experience presenting technical problems, especially data related problems, in a fashion easily consumed by non-technical audiences ● Proven knowledge of schema migration or database change management tooling with Microsoft SQL Server or other database technologies ● Ability to work autonomously and utilize ticketing tools like Jira or similar to document and deliver work according to guidelines based on agile practices ● Understanding of data collection, cleanup, and usage for the purposes of machine learning or AI driven applications
Education/Special Training: ● H.S. Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Arista Network Engineer to support PEO Digital Network Modernization efforts. This role will be pivotal in establishing operational and cybersecurity resiliency, optimizing cloud services health, and enhancing the overall end-user experience across critical Navy networks. The Senior Arista Network Engineer will architect, design, deploy, maintain, and operate a modernized Spine & Leaf solution integrated with the Naval Exchange Point (NXP) SD-WAN and Microsoft Azure Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI). This modernization will resolve decades of technical debt from the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) and ONE-Net, which has significantly degraded network performance and cloud services health, negatively impacting Navy mission objectives.

Problem Statement: The NAVWAR Old Town Campus has been experiencing severe network performance degradation, impacting mission effectiveness. The aging infrastructure is unable to meet modern security and bandwidth demands, resulting in high latency, packet loss, and frequent outages. Technical Approach: To resolve the persistent issues at NAVWAR Old Town, PEO Digital is conducting an Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) comparing Cisco’s Software-Defined Access (SDA) and Arista’s Cloud Networking solutions.
