Senior Software Engineer- W2 Position
Looking for a Senior Software Engineer (5-7 years professional experience) to maintain and enhance existing software systems in a fast-paced dynamic manufacturing environment.
You will work directly with the Director of Software Systems to define application process flows by conferring with end users and evaluating current processes. You will research innovative technologies that can increase the organizations efficiency and effectiveness. Experience in system design and requirements gathering is essential, with an emphasis on system integration and workflow automation. In this role you will support applications relating to raw materials procurement, customer orders and requirements, machine scheduling, production, product testing, finished goods inventory, invoicing and sales reporting.
A good portion of our customers technology stack is Open Source:
Our customer does not use ORM abstraction layer so writing secure dynamic SQL is a must have skill. Our customers ERP system (Sage 300) runs on Microsoft SQL server.
The existing software infrastructure consists of custom and COTS GUI and CLI software on a Windows platform with some MacOS. You will have proficiency in a variety of modern computing languages and technologies including Python and JavaScript as well as windows scripting (Batch and PowerShell). Experience in disciplined software engineering principles and practices including version control, unit/integration testing and automated build / deployment processes and documentation generation.
Experience with relational database systems focused on the writing of performant SQL queries across several leading relational database systems (Postgres, SQL server, MySQL) is essential.
Experience integrating third party APIs and libraries is essential along with top notch JSON handling skills. Experience writing restful APIs is a plus
Experience with Sage ERP is a BIG +++.
You will need strong written and verbal communication skills allowing you to work with end users in both office and manufacturing settings.
