      C2's client, a global leader in the manufacturer of kitchen and bath products, is searching for a technical writer. Under the direction of the Writing Group Lead, this position is responsible for the on-time creation and accuracy of technical content developed for plumbing products – media to include publications, labels and packaging, and animations. NOTE - Examples of work should accompany your resume.
       
      Start date: March 15, 2021
      Duration: Ongoing full time (40 hours per week) through September 14, 2021 potential to renew at that time
      Location: Remote (laptop and software provided)
      Compensation: $32-$39/hour, based upon skills and experience

      Interview Process + Requirements:
      If candidates pass the initial interview, a writing test will be conducted. Interviews to be conducted via phone and/or Teams meeting. The client team is working remotely at this time. The candidate would need to have high-speed internet to run required programs and enable video conferencing/meetings. Laptop with all required software will be provided. Equipment pick-up would need to be arranged -- time and place, following all COVID protocols.

      Job Description:

      BASIC FUNCTION
      Under the direction of the Writing Group Lead, is responsible for the on-time creation and accuracy of technical content developed for plumbing products – media to include publications, labels and packaging, and animations. Responsible for the coordination of publication requirements with Engineering, Marketing, and Technical Publications service parts, illustration, translation staff, and/or vendors. Leads the creation and maintenance of content and illustrations for installation instructions, homeowner guides, and servicing instructions. Recommends content and illustration standards for product support documentation.

      SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
      1. Responsible for the coordination of publication requirements with Engineering, Marketing, and Technical Publications service parts, illustration, and translation staff for brands as identified.
      2. Serves as the main contact for product teams for technical content and literature requirements for assigned literature projects. Completes qualification for all assigned literature projects.
      3. Evaluates project scope and product timing needs then negotiates and sets required documentation production schedule.
      4. Ensures the timely completion of assigned projects. Exhibits strong project leadership in the planning, scheduling, organizing, and team implementation of these publications; communicates and negotiates to appropriately apportion time and other resources.
      5. Has initial development and quality responsibility for technical product literature as assigned – covering product information, installation, use, and/or servicing.
      6. Represents department in matters of technical content and usability of publications. Recommends and supports maintenance of technical communication requirements, standards, and processes for all publication products.
      7. Maintains all project data including the determination of cost and timing parameters for projects and status notes.
      8. Other responsibilities and tasks as assigned.

      RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS

      Supervisory Relationships:
      • Reports to the Writing Group Lead.

      Organization Relationships:
      • Has continuous contact with Technical Communications and Engineering Services staff.
      • Has frequent contact with New Product and Current Product Development teams.
      • Has frequent contact with Faucets and Fixtures Marketing and Communications.
      • Has occasional contact with Customer Service.
      • Has occasional contact with International Marketing, product development teams from other client businesses, and other client business Technical Publications Departments.

      External Business Relationships:
      • Has occasional contact with external vendors.
      • Has occasional contact with end-use customers of product support documentation.
      • Has occasional contact with technical writing and illustration software organizations.

      EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
      Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in English, Technical Communications, Technical Illustration or other technical discipline along with strong technical writing background. At least four years of technical writing experience for product and/or software is required. At least two years experience in plumbing product installation, design, or documentation preferred, but will substitute similar experience in a related technical/manufacturing field. Mechanical aptitude, diagnostic skills, and ability to read drawings is required.
      Requires computer aptitude and demonstrated writing. Requires demonstrated visualization skills – the ability to translate between two- and three-dimensional data views. Illustration experience a plus. Must be self-motivated. Requires proven interpersonal and team leadership skills. Must demonstrate proficiency at managing complex projects, and ability to adapt to changing priorities. Typing skills are essential for productivity.

      Experience with XML and DITA authoring tools is REQUIRED. Authoring for reuse is REQUIRED. Experience with SAP is PREFERRED. Familiarity working with a tagged language (XML/DITA) is required. Requires familiarity with InDesign. Illustration experience with CAD or Pro/E, Creo, Adobe Illustrator, or Arbortext IsoDraw a plus. Proficiency with database use and excel spreadsheets required.

      Candidate will use Astoria CMS, Arbortext Epic Editor, InDesign, Windchill, MS Project Online, MS Teams and Office daily. Preference to candidates with this software experience.

The Digital Product Manager (DPM) is responsible for leading cross-functional teams to build digital products and deliver innovative digital experiences. The DPM will proactively drive the product forward and lead the interaction with development, design, business development, marketing, operations and executives. This position will lead analysis of existing users and engagement data to understand our customers and validate assumptions. Working directly with development, the DPM will prioritize and define digital experiences that meet business/brands needs.

      Job Description:
      • Use multiple systems to organize, follow up, keep data up to date and report to key stakeholders.
      • Expected to have an excellent knowledge of the company’s services and products and be able to create digital solutions for both Architects and Designers Customers/Partners (B2B), and end-customers (B2C).

      • Hands-on experience managing all stages of the product life-cycle
      • Technical background with knowledge of agile software development and web technologies

      • Launch consumer-facing products and services in high growth environment
      • Good organizational skills
      • Work with global markets / brands as part of the company and the business unit to align on capability maps, business-led user stories and work with marketing and IT partners to drive site migrations/new capabilities implementations for the regions

      Required Skills:
      • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, or related field.
      • 3-5 years of marketing experience with progressively more responsibility and a track record of results is required.
      • Proven success in a digital product management role is a must
      • Understanding / Experience with agile software development as a practice
      • Hands-on experience managing all stages of the digital product life cycle
      • Technical background with knowledge of agile software development and web technologies
      • Ability to communicate, persuade and influence, both verbally and in writing
      • Good organizational skills and problem-solving skills
      • Deep empathy for customer's experience, and the ability to translate it into new features, products, and businesses
      • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
      • Fluent in English (required) with global experience (preferred not required)
      • Digital marketing experience a plus
