Industrial Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Portland, TN

Position Overview
A leading manufacturing organization in Portland, TN is seeking an experienced Industrial Manufacturing Engineer to support plant operations. This role focuses on new product launches, equipment installations, program transfers, and process optimization across stamping, welding, and assembly lines. The candidate will work directly with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to solve technical challenges, drive efficiency, and maintain robust process documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Support new manufacturing processes, equipment installations, and product launches.
• Optimize stamping, welding, and assembly processes to maintain target production rates and quality standards.
• Perform root-cause analysis, time studies, and corrective actions for floor equipment and process issues.
• Create and update work instructions, preventive maintenance instructions, FMEAs, and APQP documentation.
• Assist with plant layout design, equipment upgrades, and implementation of new production technology.

Required Qualifications

• Five (5) years of manufacturing experience involving metal stamping or related manufacturing processes.
• Five (5) years of manufacturing engineering experience in process design, optimization, and floor troubleshooting.
• Strong working knowledge of APQP, FMEAs, root-cause analysis, and process capability tools.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Technical trade school completion or extensive relevant experience.
• Ability and willingness to travel to other company facilities in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Experience with CAD software and Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Practical knowledge of production welding, electrical controls, and preventive maintenance systems.
