Weld Technician | 3rd Shift
Location: Portland, TN

Position Overview
A leading high-volume manufacturing organization in Portland, TN is seeking a skilled Weld Tech to support production operations. This position provides critical technical support for robotic welding cells, automated assembly machinery, sensors, and tooling fixtures. Working independently, the technician will diagnose electrical, mechanical, and process issues to minimize production downtime and keep manufacturing processes running safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for industrial robots, automated assembly equipment, and fixtures.
• Identify root causes of equipment and process failures to make timely repairs and adjustments.
• Support robotic welding cells and automated assembly lines to ensure maximum operational uptime.
• Perform electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagnostics across plant machinery.
• Work closely with production teams to sustain product quality and machine reliability.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience working with robotic welding systems and automated equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to program and troubleshoot industrial robots and automated production equipment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently on a regular 3rd shift schedule (Sunday–Thursday, 9:45 PM–6:15 AM) plus potential overtime.

Preferred Qualifications

• Five (5) or more years of relevant technical manufacturing experience.
• Practical understanding of PLC diagnostics, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic setups.
• Technical degree, trade school credential, or industry certifications in robotics or mechatronics.
