1st Shift Sanitation Supervisor 
Grand Rapids, MI

Position Overview
A leading manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced, leadership-driven Sanitation Supervisor to lead the 1st shift sanitation teams across its production facilities. The Sanitation Supervisor will oversee up to 13 team members—including janitors and sanitation team leads—primarily supporting primary plant operations with cross-facility support. This role is responsible for driving strict hygiene, pre-operational readiness, allergen changeover compliance, and environmental monitoring protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct floor leadership, direction, and accountability for off-shift sanitation team leads and janitorial staff across plant facilities.
• Oversee and execute pre-operational inspections, allergen changeovers, and cleaning validation/verification processes.
• Utilize ATP swabbing and monitoring tools to ensure equipment and facility surfaces meet strict sanitation standards.
• Support plant environmental monitoring (PEM) programs and participate in swabbing routines.
• Oversee facility pest control programs and ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulatory expectations.
• Manage, update, and ensure execution of the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).
• Maintain accurate records, perform data entry, and assist with shift scheduling as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Proven leadership or supervisory experience managing sanitation teams or floor technicians in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of pre-operational inspections, allergen changeovers, and cleaning verification/validation procedures.
• Hands-on experience with ATP testing and basic understanding of Plant Environmental Monitoring (PEM).
• Direct experience working with and executing a Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).
• Working knowledge of integrated pest control standards and facility compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with shift scheduling and compliance data entry.
• Hands-on experience with chemical titration testing and concentration verification.
• Direct swabbing and pest control application experience.
