About Proppel
Proppel is a recruitment agency connecting top talent across the US, Canada, and Latin America with opportunities at some of the most exciting companies in the world.
Whether you are looking for your next role or the right move to advance your career, we will make it happen.
What we're looking for
Our client is a fast-growing, US-based direct-to-consumer personal care brand with a very online, nerdy culture, known for bar soaps, distinctive fragrances, and licensing partnerships in anime and gaming. With 20+ products, monthly limited drops, and both in-house and contract manufacturing, every launch brings big decisions about inventory and cash. You'll work directly with the CEO, and your analysis will influence purchasing, spending, and owner distributions.
What Youll Be Doing
- Own a rolling 13-week cash forecast and a 12 to 18-month P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow model, keeping them current instead of rebuilding them every few months.
- Model purchasing scenarios (for example, one large order now versus two smaller ones) and bring clear recommendations to the CEO.
- Advise the Operations Manager on cash flow and purchasing, including planning for launches, promotions, and Black Friday.
- Coordinate the month-end close with the bookkeeper so the books are done by the 15th.
- Run a monthly review of cash needs, growth spending, and what can be distributed to owners, with reasoning you can share with partners and investors.
- Use AI automations connected to Shopify and your finance tools to cut manual work and free up time for strategy.
Requirements
- 4+ years of finance experience, including time at a physical product business (e-commerce, retail, consumer products, or manufacturing).
- A strong grasp of how money moves in an inventory business: long lead times, production, storage, and sales over time.
- Hands-on experience building cash flow forecasts and forecasted P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
- Experience with scenario planning for purchasing decisions, including price versus cash tradeoffs.
- Sharp numeracy, exceptional attention to detail, and clear written English.
- An ownership mindset: you can improve existing models without a playbook, and you genuinely enjoy finance and want to grow in it.
Nice to Have
- Demand planning or inventory forecasting experience.
- QuickBooks experience (you'll also use Ramp and Google Sheets, and training is available on any tool).
- Interest in anime, gaming, or online culture.
Benefits
- Competitive USD salary.
- 100% remote work.
- Paid Time Off.
- A friendly, easygoing team where you work directly with the CEO.
