Job Description
We are seeking to hire a Java WebObjects Developer.
This is a Full-Time Permanent position (NOT seeking a contractor or C2C).
Work Location: Remote (must be a resident of the USA).
This position will require experience with both Java and WebObjects to work on legacy applications.
As a Java Web Developer you will be part of a talented software team that works on and maintains mission-critical client-facing applications. Development roles and responsibilities include Java WebObjects application development while providing expertise in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing, release, and monitoring.
Responsibilities:
• Translate application requirements and use cases into functional applications
• Build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable WebObjects applications
• Work with project managers to understand requirements and develop software solutions
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using best practices for software development
• Provide high-tier support to services team when required.
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications
• Troubleshoot and debug code as necessary to resolve issues
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation
Skills:
Specific proficiency in:
• Java WebObjects
• Relational Databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, MSSQL)
• Web Application Development
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
• Skill for writing and implementing reusable libraries
• Strong code debugging skills
The best candidate will also have experience with:
• RESTful Webservice/API development
• Cloud-based deployment platforms - Amazon Web Services (AWS) / Microsoft Azure
• HTTP Web Servers – Apache, etc.
• Front-end Development – HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as React or Angular
Requirements:
• 3+ years experience of demonstrable relevant experience
• Proven hands-on Software Development experience including a working experience in Java WebObjects
• Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.
• Computer Science degree preferred
