Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Plan and execute experiments (DOE) supporting novel membrane formulations, characterization, and process development for the prototyping of new bio sensing modalities.
Independently develop methods and in-process testing for the characterization of coating solutions and membrane with Viscometer/Rheometer, DLS, Zeta potential analyzer, mechanical test, DSC, FT-IR, NMR, etc.
Identify, procure, and qualify critical raw materials and manage vendors to support formulation development and commercialization.
Partner with development teams to develop formulations, design processes and material solutions with novel functional materials that address formulation challenges and product quality.
Develop technical strategy, maintain project timelines, and communicate to other stakeholders.
Partner with design teams to develop and test new sensor prototypes.
Work cross-functionally with R&D, manufacturing, QA, clinical / regulatory, legal / IP, and other internal stakeholders to align on design requirements and ensure technical, clinical, and commercial feasibility.
Identify, procure, install, and qualify new equipment and processes for characterizing formulation stability and characterizing process.
Develop procedures, plans, protocols and reports to ensure designs and processes meet product specifications, regulatory requirements and standards

Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated knowledge and experience of polymer solution physics and formulation engineering for biocompatibility, functionality, and manufacturability.
Experience with immobilizing functional molecules onto polymers and characterization of immobilization efficiency
Experience with experimental design, assay development, statistics, DOE techniques, data analysis methods and software (JMP preferred)
Strong analytical and experimental skills for organic polymer and polymer solution characterization (Viscometer/Rheometer, Mechanical test(Instron), DLS, Zeta potential analyzer, DSC, FT-IR, NMR)
Experience in medical device or other regulated industry
Experience with biosensor prototype fabrication
Experience with electrochemical characterization on redox chemistry and transduction
Experience with enzyme activity testing
