Job Description
Step into a hands-on manufacturing role where your mechanical aptitude, electrical awareness, and comfort with automation keep production moving safely and efficiently. You’ll work with modern equipment, HMIs, and semi-automated systems in a fast-paced environment, directly contributing to consistent, high-quality output.
About the Role:
As a Manufacturing Technician, you will operate and monitor semi-automated production equipment, ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for equipment setup, basic troubleshooting, and real-time adjustments through HMIs to maintain throughput and product quality. Your work will be central to keeping production bays running reliably and meeting daily targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) or touchscreen systems to run and monitor production bays.
- Install and change over mechanical tooling using hand tools such as Allen wrenches and torque wrenches.
- Operate hydraulic presses, robots, and conveyors in accordance with established procedures and safety standards.
- Perform basic equipment troubleshooting to identify and resolve operational issues that impact production flow.
- Monitor equipment performance, product quality, and process parameters, escalating issues as needed.
- Follow standardized work instructions and production schedules in a fast-paced, semi-automated manufacturing environment.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to all safety, lockout/tagout, and housekeeping requirements.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment operating automated or semi-automated equipment.
- Hands-on skills in mechanical assembly, tooling installation, and equipment setup using common hand tools.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems sufficient to support basic equipment troubleshooting and safe operation.
- Familiarity with hydraulic systems and safe operation of hydraulic presses.
- Ability to interpret and use HMIs or touchscreen interfaces to control equipment and adjust process parameters.
- Strong troubleshooting mindset with the ability to quickly identify and respond to equipment or process issues.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced setting with changing priorities and production demands.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience working with industrial robots, conveyors, or other automated material handling systems.
- Exposure to semi-automated or fully automated manufacturing lines in a high-volume environment.
- Ability to read basic mechanical or electrical schematics and equipment documentation.
- Previous experience in contract or project-based manufacturing roles.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical certificate or vocational training in manufacturing, industrial technology, mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
- Safety-related training (e.g., lockout/tagout, electrical awareness, forklift or equipment operation) is an advantage.
If you’re a practical, hands-on technician who thrives around machinery and automation, this role offers a strong platform to apply your skills and make a direct impact on production performance.
