Job Description

Step into a hands-on CNC programming role with a busy, well-equipped manufacturing environment where your precision and problem-solving skills directly impact quality and throughput. This is a contract position offering consistent daytime hours and the chance to work with modern CNC equipment and controls in a supportive, technical team.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce high-quality components in a fast-paced production setting. Working closely with machinists and supervisors, you will translate technical drawings into efficient CNC programs, ensuring accuracy, repeatability, and adherence to specifications. Your work will help maintain production schedules while continuously improving machining processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs for various machines using FANUC controls and related software.
  • Set up CNC machines, including tooling, fixtures, offsets, and workholding, to meet job specifications.
  • Operate CNC machines to produce parts, performing in-process inspections and adjustments as needed.
  • Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining sequences, dimensions, and tolerances.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machining, programming, and control issues using diagnostic tools such as multimeters.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to ensure parts meet dimensional, surface finish, and quality requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of programs, setups, and process changes for repeat jobs.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending changes to programs, tooling, and setups to improve efficiency and quality.

Key Requirements:

  • 2–5 years of CNC programming experience in a production or job-shop environment.
  • Proven experience with CNC machine setup and operation, including tooling and fixture setup.
  • Hands-on experience with FANUC CNC controls.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T symbols.
  • Proficiency in using measurement tools and a multimeter for troubleshooting and verification.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain tight tolerances.
  • Willingness to work Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with flexibility as needed for production demands.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Mazatrol (Mazak) programming/software.
  • Working knowledge of G-code programming.
  • Familiarity with a variety of CNC tooling, fixtures, and workholding strategies.
  • Exposure to process optimization or continuous improvement initiatives in machining environments.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical certificate or diploma in CNC machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Formal training in CNC programming and/or FANUC controls is an advantage.

If you are a detail-focused CNC professional looking to apply your programming and setup skills in a contract role with steady hours, submit your application to be considered.
