  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to identify root causes of equipment failures.
  • Document all work performed, including parts used, labor time, and findings, in maintenance records or work orders.
  • Inspect equipment for safety and compliance, reporting any issues that require immediate attention.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and operations staff to prioritize repairs and minimize equipment downtime.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a mechanic working with diesel engines in a shop or field environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform preventive maintenance on diesel-powered vehicles or machinery.
  • Strong capability to read and apply information from technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems as they relate to diesel equipment.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple work orders, and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety and quality workmanship.
  • Physical ability to work in a shop or field setting, including lifting, bending, and working in varying conditions.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with fleet maintenance or heavy equipment servicing.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Exposure to oilfield, construction, or industrial operations in North Dakota or similar regions.
  • Experience performing mobile or field-based repairs on equipment at customer or job sites.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Formal vocational or technical training in diesel technology, automotive technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant mechanic or diesel technician certifications (e.g., ASE or equivalent) are an advantage.
