Director of Pharmacy Procurement & Strategic Sourcing

Position Summary

Seeking an experienced pharmacy supply chain leader to oversee enterprise-wide pharmacy procurement and sourcing operations across inpatient, outpatient, retail, infusion, and community hospital settings. This role will lead sourcing strategy, supplier relationships, procurement governance, and cost optimization initiatives to ensure reliable medication supply and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead pharmacy procurement and sourcing strategy across multiple care settings.
  • Manage wholesaler, distributor, manufacturer, and supplier relationships.
  • Oversee purchasing operations, pricing strategy, and contract utilization.
  • Drive cost savings, operational efficiency, and supply chain optimization initiatives.
  • Partner with pharmacy, finance, supply chain, and IT leaders to improve procurement processes and reporting.
  • Support 340B purchasing strategies and compliance initiatives.
  • Develop procurement policies, performance metrics, and process improvement programs.
  • Lead and mentor procurement team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, MS, or PharmD preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in pharmacy procurement, sourcing, or supply chain leadership.
  • Experience managing large pharmacy spend portfolios and supplier contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of GPOs, wholesaler agreements, 340B environments, and procurement systems.
  • Proven leadership, financial analysis, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in complex healthcare or health system environments preferred.

Salary: $180,000 - $230,000
