About the Opportunity

Saige Partners is partnering with a leading, innovative manufacturing organization to find an experienced Assistant Controller. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a high-impact role supporting financial operations, compliance, and strategic decision-making within a dynamic, growth-focused environment.


Position Overview

The Assistant Controller will play a key role in supporting the Finance and Accounting function, with a focus on daily accounting operations, internal controls, and financial reporting. This individual will collaborate cross-functionally and serve as a subject matter expert in vendor management and federal excise taxes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Controller in developing and maintaining internal controls, policies, and procedures
  • Manage and ensure the integrity of the vendor master database (Oracle EBS)
  • Lead efforts in vendor setup, validation, and compliance with payment processes
  • Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting (GAAP)
  • Enhance accounting systems and drive ERP-related process improvements
  • Analyze financial results, including variance analysis vs. budget and forecast
  • Support audit processes by preparing documentation and coordinating with external auditors
  • Contribute to budgeting efforts across multiple cost centers and subsidiaries
  • Act as a subject matter expert for Federal Excise Taxes (FAET)
  • Mentor and support team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and employee development initiatives
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts and support operational excellence initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s preferred)
  • 4–6 years of relevant accounting experience (industry, public accounting, or both)
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting
  • Experience with cost accounting and inventory accounting
  • ERP system experience required (Oracle EBS preferred)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification (preferred, not required)
  • Experience with Sage (fixed assets), Alteryx (data processing), and Oracle GL tools
  • Background supporting audit preparation and compliance processes
