Maintenance Technician
Job Overview: Our client is seeking to add a NEW Maintenance Tech to their team. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and troubleshooting tasks to support efficient plant operations. This role ensures all equipment and systems are maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance.
This is a Direct Hire role.
Reports To: Plant Manager
What you will be doing as a Maintenance Tech…- Perform preventive and routine maintenance on plant equipment
- Execute scheduled major overhauls on mechanical and electrical systems
- Troubleshoot pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical issues
- Respond to emergency repairs and support planned shutdown maintenance
- Complete basic welding and fabrication tasks
- Assist with installation of new equipment and system upgrades
- Maintain inventory of maintenance parts and supplies
- Support additional maintenance and production activities as assigned
Skills you ideally bring to the table as a Maintenance Tech…- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial or agricultural maintenance environment
- Proven ability to complete maintenance projects successfully
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Maintain a strong commitment to workplace safety and follow all safety protocols
- Working knowledge of single-phase and three-phase electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
- Ability to identify components and troubleshoot electrical systems
- Experience with motor starters, PLCs, and solid-state equipment
- Proficient in using hand tools and metal fabrication equipment
- Ability to safely operate:
- Forklifts
- Aerial lifts
- Skid steers
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with plant leadership and operators
- Respond promptly to plant operational issues
- Thorough understanding of:
- Lockout/Tagout procedures
- Hot work permits
- Confined space protocols
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach overhead, and climb as needed
- Lift and move heavy materials
- Full use of hands and feet for equipment operation
- Ability to work in harsh environments, including exposure to dust and outdoor conditions
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong communication skills
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Visual acuity (20/20 vision with or without corrective lenses)
