Role Overview
We are looking for an Architect of Autonomy a relentless, AI-native technical founder at heart who thrives on building from zero and lives at the edge of whats possible.
Were replacing our legacy stack entirely and rebuilding our learning ecosystem from the ground up: a single, unified, AI-native platform that replaces three separate products. This is not a migration. Its a clean sheet.
Reporting directly to the CEO and collaborating closely with the executive leadership team. You will define the stack, set the architecture, hire the team, establish the agentic build engine, and personally write the foundational code. Youre not inheriting a codebase youre creating one.
You will hire, lead, and develop a lean team of senior engineers that will operate as domain specialists without the traditional safety nets of PM or dedicated QA. By instilling an elite engineering culture and arming your team with cutting-edge AI co-development frameworks, you will orchestrate a high-autonomy squad capable of delivering unmatched product impact.
Main Responsibilities
1. Core Greenfield Architecture & Platform Consolidation
● Unified Platform Strategy: Design a greenfield, unified AWS architecture to safely consolidate three legacy systems into a single, high-performance, scalable platform.
● Enterprise Stack Integration: Architect and personally oversee robust integration layers connecting the core platform to our global enterprise stack: Salesforce (CRM), NetSuite (ERP/Accounting), Zuora (Subscription Management), and Yuno (LATAM Payment Orchestrator).
● Data Structure & Compliance Security: Define unified data schemas that accommodate multi-tenant learning tracks while implementing strict global compliance patterns (such as COPPA/GDPR-K) for child-safe environments.
2. Engineering the "Agentic-First" Build Engine
● Automated Engineering Loops: Define and enforce the agentic-first build processcreating automated generation, continuous self-review, and execution loops that act as a massive force multiplier across the entire engineering lifecycle.
● AI-Driven Automated Quality: Set the standard for DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and advanced automated testing patternsbuilding a resilient deployment infrastructure that completely eliminates the need for a traditional QA team.
● Model Routing Optimization: Establish the internal infrastructure to handle LLM orchestration, optimizing model routing (frontier models vs. specialized local micro-models) to balance system speed, accuracy, and token economics.
3. Product Anchor & Business Interface
● Spec-Less Execution: Act as the ultimate product anchor for the engineering teamtranslating high-level corporate business goals directly into crisp architectural decisions without waiting for a PM to write a traditional feature spec.
● Cross-Functional Executive Interface: Serve as the direct technical interface to leadership, providing transparent, data-backed timeline clarity, infrastructure forecasting, and clear risk mitigation strategies.
● Domain Scoping: Map out feature requirements across our five specialist domains (Streaming, Gamification, Kids, Adults, AI) to preemptively catch integration bottlenecks or billing exceptions before developers touch the code.
4. Engineering Team Leadership & Practical Culture
● Hiring & Team Sequencing: Strategically onboard and sequence the intake of specialized Senior Developers over the next 90 days, ensuring seamless knowledge transfer as the foundational layer is built.
● Culture of Extreme Autonomy: Establish coding standards, agentic tooling (e.g., Cursor, Cloud Code configurations), and a high-autonomy engineering culture from day one, preparing the team to operate efficiently without traditional safety nets.
● Working Captain Hand-on Input: Author core foundational microservices (such as authentication frameworks and master API gateways) and perform high-leverage peer code reviews to ensure system health and product alignment.
What We're Looking For
Strong Advantage
Why is this role different?
This is a greenfield build with real business urgency behind it. Youre not managing a migration or inheriting someone elses technical debt. Youre building the stack, the team, and the culture in that order. If youve been waiting for a seat at the table where technical decisions actually matter, this is it.
