Integration Engineer –  SAP S/4HANA

Position Summary

We are seeking an Integration Engineer to design, develop, and support integrations between GEP SMART and SAP S/4HANA. The ideal candidate has strong experience building enterprise integrations, working with APIs, cloud integration services, and middleware technologies to enable reliable data exchange across procurement and ERP platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain integrations between GEP SMART and SAP S/4HANA.

• Build and consume REST and SOAP APIs for enterprise system integrations.

• Develop real-time and batch integration solutions based on business requirements.

• Define and implement data mapping, transformation, and schema normalization processes.

• Implement logging, monitoring, retry mechanisms, and exception handling to ensure integration reliability.

• Design resilient integration architectures with alerting and failure recovery capabilities.

• Develop event-driven integrations using messaging technologies.

• Support bulk and incremental data loading strategies.

• Collaborate with functional and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver integration solutions.

• Produce technical documentation and maintain integration artifacts.

• Participate in CI/CD processes, code reviews, and performance optimization initiatives.

• Ensure integrations comply with security, governance, and enterprise standards.

Required Technical Skills

• Experience developing enterprise integrations.

• Strong knowledge of REST and SOAP APIs.

• Experience with real-time and batch integration patterns.

• Data mapping and transformation experience.

• Knowledge of logging, retry mechanisms, and error handling strategies.

• Experience designing resilient integration solutions.

• Hands-on experience with Azure Integration Services.

• Experience with Azure Service Bus and event-driven messaging.

• Understanding of middleware and integration architecture concepts.

• Experience with message queues and asynchronous communication.

• Knowledge of data staging, schema normalization, and transformation pipelines.

• Experience implementing bulk and incremental data processing.

• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and version control.

• Ability to create clear technical documentation.

• Experience optimizing integration performance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with procurement or supply chain management (SCM) systems.

• Knowledge of procurement business processes.

• Experience working in cross-functional Agile teams.

• Understanding of compliance, governance, and enterprise controls.
