Job Description

Strategic Staffing Solutions International's client is a leading global investment bank and financial services firm, known for working with top companies, governments, and institutions. With a strong presence worldwide, it focuses on investment banking, markets, asset management, and consumer finance. And they are seeking an experienced and independent Software Engineer to join the their Engineering team for a either 6 or 12 month contract focused on improving system stability, automation, and operational efficiency within electronic trading platforms.

This role requires strong software engineering skills combined with hands-on production support experience in complex, high-performance environments.

Key Responsibilities

Production Systems & Stability

• Triage, diagnose, and resolve complex production issues within electronic trading systems.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement durable technical fixes.
• Partner with infrastructure and software teams to improve platform reliability and performance.

Automation & Tooling

• Design and develop automation scripts and internal tools to eliminate manual processes.
• Improve operational workflows and monitoring coverage.
• Contribute to system performance tuning and efficiency improvements.

Release & Deployment Support

• Support release and deployment lifecycle processes.
• Ensure smooth and controlled rollouts across production environments.
• Enhance CI/CD processes where applicable.

Collaboration & Documentation

• Work closely with software engineers, infrastructure teams, and trading stakeholders.
• Provide input into system design and capacity planning discussions.
• Maintain clear technical documentation and provide regular progress reporting.

Technical Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Python and Java (C++ is a plus)
• Experience working with Linux systems
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals
• Experience with Git or modern version control systems
• Hands-on experience in production environments
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI)
• Background in electronic trading or financial systems is a plus

Position is hybrid- 3 days in the office, 2 days from home in Warsaw.
