Junior Data Engineer / Software Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a Junior Data Engineer / Software Engineer to support the development of data pipelines, applications, APIs, and cloud-based solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer with foundational experience in Python, SQL, Java, and AWS who is looking to grow within an enterprise technology environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support data pipelines, applications, and integration solutions.

• Write and troubleshoot Python, SQL, and Java code.

• Work with relational databases, including tables, joins, keys, indexes, views, and data models.

• Support ETL/ELT processes and data integration workflows.

• Develop and integrate REST APIs and web services.

• Work with GraphQL schemas, queries, mutations, and API integrations.

• Assist with cloud-based development using AWS.

• Perform testing, debugging, documentation, and code reviews.

• Use Git/GitHub for source control and collaborative development.

• Partner with technical teams to troubleshoot issues and deliver reliable solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field; equivalent practical experience may be considered.

• 0–2 years of relevant data engineering, software engineering, application development, or database development experience.

• Working knowledge of Python, SQL, and Java.

• Foundational knowledge of AWS.

• Understanding of relational databases and ETL/ELT/data pipeline concepts.

• Familiarity with REST APIs and GraphQL.

• Familiarity with Git and GitHub.

• Understanding of software development practices including testing, debugging, documentation, and code reviews.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Ideal Candidate

A recent graduate or early-career engineer with hands-on experience through professional work, internships, co-ops, academic projects, or personal development projects involving Python + SQL + Java + AWS.
