Job Title: Workday Functional Consultant 
Location: Hybrid – (Virginia, Dallas, Chicago, Boston)
Duration: 6 Months + Possibility to Extend and/or Convert to FTE
Pay Rate: $60 - $70/HR (W2 Only)
Job/Role Description:
  • This role supports a Divisional Level Initiatives (DLI) team in driving the standardization and unification of Workday business processes across the enterprise’s operations in 15 countries.
  • Collaborate with KPMG and internal stakeholders to analyze current-state processes, implement recommended changes, and validate outcomes to establish one consistent global process framework.
  • Perform functional configuration and maintenance within Workday Core HCM, Recruiting, Benefits, and Talent Management & Performance Management modules.
  • Design, configure, and optimize business processes, calculated fields, alerts, consolidations, and multi-language translations to meet local regulatory and language requirements while maintaining global consistency.
  • Support foundational setups including company structures, job requisitions, and cross-country process flows.
  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of configuration changes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and seamless operation across all supported geographies.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in Workday configurations and business processes to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Accurately document all configurations, process changes, testing results, and outcomes to support knowledge transfer, audit readiness, and future maintenance.
  • Work in a hybrid model, reporting to a designated Capital One People Center three days per week.
Required Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Workday Functional Consultant with strong hands-on expertise in Core HCM and Recruiting (required)
  • Experience with Benefits and/or Talent Management & Performance Management (TMPM) modules 
  • Deep knowledge of Workday functional configuration, business process design, setup, and management across multiple countries and legal entities
  • Experience supporting large-scale Workday process standardization, harmonization, or transformation initiatives
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into effective Workday functional solutions and troubleshoot configuration or process issues
  • Familiarity with cross-border considerations including translations, local regulations, and data requirements
  • Workday certification (e.g., HCM, Recruiting, or Benefits) preferred but not required
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Highly self-motivated and directed with strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic, high-pressure environment
  • Must be comfortable working in a hybrid model
