  • analytics platforms on AWS, aligning to business priorities across ECOM, EAM, and
  • NGBU domains.
  • Define and steward the North Star architecture for analytics, based on data fabric
  • and data mesh operating models, including domain data products, shared
  • services, and federated governance.
  • Architect the migration of a large, complex SQL Server data warehouse to AWS,
  • guiding modernization of domain aligned data models, storage formats, and
  • analytical patterns.
  • Establish and govern architectural standards for:
  • o Amazon Redshift, PostgreSQL, and S3-based analytics
  • o Apache Iceberg table design and lifecycle management
  • o Analytical data modeling and layer separation
  • Apply and evangelize AWS best practices for performance optimization, intelligent
  • scaling, workload isolation, and cost-aware design.
  • Partner closely with data engineering teams, maintaining a strong understanding of
  • ETL/ELT data flows, pipeline patterns, and orchestration approaches, while
  • remaining hands-on-keys.
  • Provide architectural oversight for analytics consumption layers leveraging Power BI
  • and AWS Quick Sight, ensuring alignment with upstream data design.
  • Lead architecture reviews, solution design sessions, and technical decision forums
  • with engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders.
  • Serve as a senior technical advisor, influencing roadmaps, investment decisions,
  • and long-term platform evolution.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in data warehousing, analytics architecture, or large-scale
  • data platform design.
  • Proven experience architecting AWS-based analytics platforms, including:
             o Amazon Redshift
             o PostgreSQL
             o Amazon S3
o Apache Iceberg or similar open table formats
  • Demonstrated success leading migrations from On-Premise SQL Server data
  • warehouses to cloud-native architectures.
  • Strong understanding of data fabric and data mesh concepts, including domain
  • ownership, data products, and federated data governance.
  • Deep familiarity with AWS performance optimization patterns for analytical
  • workloads.
  • Solid conceptual understanding of modern ETL/ELT pipelines, data ingestion
  • patterns, and transformation strategies.
  • Experience supporting enterprise BI and analytics platforms, including Microsoft
  • Power BI and AWS QuickSight.
  • Ability to lead through influence, set architectural direction, and translate strategy
  • into enforceable standards.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and nontechnical
  • stakeholders.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS analytics and data services such as Glue, Athena, Lake
  • Formation, Lambda, Step Functions, and CloudWatch.
  • Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, lineage, and observability
  • platforms.
  • Experience operating in large, regulated, or highly federated enterprise
  • environments.
  • Exposure to CI/CD, infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation), and
  • platform automation.
  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect – Professional, Data Analytics – Specialty).
  • Experience designing semantic layers or enterprise analytics frameworks for self-service
  • BI.

What Success Looks Like in This Role

  • A clearly defined and adopted North Star data architecture aligned with data fabric
  • and data mesh principles.
  • Successful architectural leadership of the SQL Server to AWS migration, with
  • improved scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Consistent, repeatable architectural standards applied across Redshift,
  • PostgreSQL and Iceberg-based analytics solutions.
  • Strong alignment between data architecture, data engineering execution, and
  • analytics consumption (Power BI and QuickSight).
  • High confidence from engineering teams and business stakeholders in architectural
  • decisions and platform direction.
  • Measurable improvements in analytics performance, reliability, and time-to-insight
  • across ECOM, EAM, and NGBU portfolios.
