Job Title: Technical Architect IV (Solution Architect)

Location: Houston, TX – 1500 Louisiana St, Houston, TX 77002
Contract Length: 7 months
On-Site Required
Pay Rate: to $100/Hr

Position Overview

We are seeking a Technical Architect IV (Solution Architect) to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale technology solutions. This role is responsible for translating business needs into robust, scalable, and secure architectures across applications, data, and infrastructure.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in Azure cloud environments, system design, and enterprise architecture practices, along with the ability to influence stakeholders and guide delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions
• Design end-to-end solution architectures aligned with enterprise standards
• Develop target architectures that balance business goals, enterprise guardrails, and efficiency
• Make and validate key technical decisions (technology selection, integrations, architectural patterns)
• Ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements (scalability, performance, security, resiliency)
• Identify technical risks and proactively manage technical debt
• Guide development and delivery teams on architectural best practices
• Lead or participate in architecture reviews and governance processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, business stakeholders, and enterprise architecture
• Support roadmap development and long-term technology strategy

Required Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of experience in technical architecture, solution architecture, or related roles
• Proven experience designing end-to-end enterprise solutions
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platforms and infrastructure
• Expertise in application architecture (monolith, microservices, distributed systems)
• Hands-on experience with API design, integrations, messaging, and event-driven architectures
• Solid understanding of data architecture fundamentals (data models, flows, governance)
• Experience designing for non-functional requirements (performance, scalability, availability, security)
• Strong knowledge of architecture standards, governance, and review processes
• Experience evaluating and selecting technologies, frameworks, and tools
• Ability to identify and manage technical debt and architectural risks

Functional / Domain Knowledge

• Ability to quickly understand business domains, processes, and workflows
• Experience mapping business capabilities to technical solutions
• Understanding of enterprise application ecosystems and dependencies
• Awareness of regulatory, compliance, and governance considerations
• Ability to assess operational impacts of technical solutions
• Experience performing change and impact analysis across systems and processes
• Familiarity with business KPIs, metrics, and success indicators
