Charitable Services Analyst – Operations

Location: Cohoes, NY
Duration: 6-Month Contract
Pay Rate: $30/hr

Overview

We are seeking a Charitable Services Analyst to join a fast-paced operations team supporting donor-advised charitable funds. This role will help maintain the financial integrity of charitable accounts by performing transaction reconciliations, cash monitoring, reporting, and operational support.

The analyst will collaborate with multiple internal teams to ensure accurate record keeping, support regulatory reporting requirements, and help improve operational processes across the charitable services platform.

Key Responsibilities

Reconciliation & Transaction Review

  • Perform daily reconciliations of charitable fund transactions to ensure accuracy between internal records and custodian records.

  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in coordination with internal teams.

Cash Management & Financial Monitoring

  • Monitor bank accounts and perform cash controls to identify unusual or potentially fraudulent activity.

  • Review, process, and report on charitable expenses and budgets.

  • Process vendor invoices and partner with Accounts Payable as needed.

Operational Support

  • Review and approve client requests to ensure proper documentation and policy compliance.

  • Perform quality assurance reviews on completed work to ensure data accuracy.

  • Work across multiple internal systems to support operational workflows.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Generate daily, weekly, monthly, and annual operational reports.

  • Analyze KPI/KRI metrics related to team performance and operational health.

  • Assist with financial reporting and regulatory filings related to charitable funds.

Regulatory & Financial Reporting

  • Assist with preparing components of regulatory reports and filings including:

    • Form 990

    • Form 8282

    • FBAR filings

  • Support preparation of financial statements such as changes in net assets and investment disclosures.

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase operational efficiency.

  • Document workflows and partner with engineering and reporting teams to implement improvements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 2+ years of professional experience in operations, finance, accounting, or analyst roles

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with financial operations, reconciliations, or reporting

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
