We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to lead the strategy, delivery, and ongoing evolution of digital products supporting wildfire risk management, meteorological insights, and power outage mapping within a utilities environment. This role is highly collaborative and data-driven, partnering with engineering, operations, GIS teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver mission-critical solutions that support safety, reliability, and operational decision-making.
The ideal candidate brings strong utility domain knowledge, experience working with wildfire risk and outage management, and the ability to manage a complex product portfolio that includes both internal platforms and vendor-supported solutions.
Own and manage a portfolio of products supporting wildfire mitigation, meteorology, GIS, and outage mapping.
Define and maintain product vision, strategy, and roadmaps aligned with utility safety, reliability, and regulatory objectives.
Support portfolio planning and prioritization in partnership with leadership, balancing capital projects, operational needs, and risk reduction initiatives.
Help leadership approach and manage portfolio-level tradeoffs, dependencies, and sequencing.
Serve as the Product Owner for GIS-enabled applications, including asset-based risk and outage mapping solutions.
Leverage asset data, meteorological data, and risk models to inform product decisions and improvements.
Ensure products are data-driven and deliver actionable insights for operations, public safety, and leadership teams.
Provide product leadership for wildfire-related initiatives, including wildfire risk visualization, operational dashboards, and mapping solutions.
Partner with wildfire and public safety teams to ensure tools align with safety protocols and emergency response needs.
Support solutions related to Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) and outage visibility where applicable.
Manage vendor relationships, including software agreements, roadmaps, and delivery commitments.
Act as the primary liaison between internal teams and external vendors to ensure alignment with internal product strategy.
Lead and participate in liaison meetings related to capital projects, vendor delivery, and operational readiness.
Work closely with engineering and DevOps teams in an Agile delivery environment.
Own and prioritize the product backlog using Jira, ensuring clarity of requirements and acceptance criteria.
Collaborate with Operations, GIS, Risk, and IT teams to deliver high-quality, reliable solutions.
5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role in IT delivery.
Experience working in the utilities or energy sector, with exposure to wildfire risk, outage management, or grid operations.
Strong understanding of Agile and DevOps practices.
Proven experience managing third-party vendors and software product roadmaps.
Hands-on experience using Jira for backlog and delivery management.
Ability to manage multiple initiatives and own outcomes end-to-end.
