IT Project Manager - Data Products

Location:  Charlotte, NC 
Duration: 12 Months

We are seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager (TPM) to lead delivery for two cross functional teams focused on building and enhancing data products. This role partners closely with engineering, data, analytics, and business stakeholders to ensure initiatives are well intaked, properly prioritized, transparently communicated, and delivered predictably.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically fluent, comfortable operating in an Agile environment, and experienced managing complex data platforms with both batch and streaming workloads. This role requires strong ownership across planning, execution, risk management, and stakeholder alignment.

Key Responsibilities:  Program & Delivery Management

  • Own end to end project delivery for multiple concurrent data initiatives across two teams
  • Establish and manage a structured work intake process, ensuring clear scope, requirements, and acceptance criteria
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and forecasts, adjusting as priorities or dependencies change
  • Drive predictable delivery through proactive risk identification, mitigation planning, and issue escalation
  • Prioritization & Stakeholder Alignment
  • Partner with product owners, engineering leads, and business stakeholders to prioritize work based on value, capacity, and dependencies
  • Facilitate trade off discussions and help stakeholders understand delivery impacts and constraints
  • Manage and track external and cross team dependencies, ensuring alignment across platforms and teams
  • Agile Execution & Team Enablement
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Ensure teams follow Agile best practices while remaining pragmatic and outcome focused
  • Remove blockers and enable teams to operate efficiently and sustainably
  • Communication & Reporting
  • Own outbound communications to stakeholders and leadership, including status updates, delivery forecasts, risks, and milestones
  • Create clear, concise artifacts such as dashboards, timelines, RAID logs, and executive summaries
  • Act as a central point of coordination between technical teams and non technical partners
Technical Environment (Experience Strongly Preferred)This role does not require hands on development but does require technical fluency in modern data platforms and architectures, including:
  • Data Products & Data Platforms
  • AWS Services: AWS Glue, AWS DMS, AWS Lambda, Amazon Aurora (PostgreSQL)
  • Data Processing & Languages: PySpark, Python
  • Streaming & Messaging: Kafka, Streaming and batch data pipelines
  • Analytics & BI: Qlik, Experience managing projects involving data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and analytics consumption is a major plus.
Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in technical project or program management, preferably supporting data or platform teams
  • Proven success managing multiple teams and complex delivery roadmaps
  • Strong understanding of Agile / Scrum methodologies
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to translate between technical and business audiences
  • Experience managing dependencies, risks, and delivery forecasts in dynamic environments
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with data engineering, analytics, or data platform teams
  • Familiarity with cloud native data architectures, especially on AWS
  • Experience supporting both streaming and batch data processing
  • Background as a technical contributor (engineering, data, or analytics)
What Success Looks Like:
  • Stakeholders have clear visibility into priorities, timelines, and risks
  • Teams have well defined, properly scoped work entering each sprint
  • Delivery is predictable, even in the face of complexity and change
  • Risks and dependencies are identified early and actively managed
  • Teams are able to focus on execution while the TPM drives alignment and communication
