Strategic Staffing Solutions is currently looking for a Systems Operations Engineer, a W2 contract opportunity with one of our largest clients!

Candidates should be willing to work on our W2 ONLY, NO C2C

Key Skills:

• 7+ years of Oracle Database Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
• Expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and Golden Gate.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning techniques.
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments and Shell scripting

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain Oracle databases
• Design and implement high-availability and disaster recovery solutions using Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and GoldenGate.
• Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for database-related incidents and implement long-term solutions.
• Automate database maintenance tasks using PL/SQL, Shell scripting, and Ansible.
• Ensure database security, compliance, and audit readiness (SOX, PCI, HIPAA).
• Collaborate with application development, infrastructure, and security teams to support business initiatives.
• Manage backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and enterprise backup tools.
• Monitor database health using tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Prometheus, or custom dashboards.
• Maintain detailed documentation for database configurations, procedures, and recovery plans.

Required Skills:

• Experience with monitoring tools: Oracle Enterprise Manager, Prometheus, or similar.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
• Proven leadership in incident management and change control processes
