Location: Detroit, MI (Hybrid schedule)
Duration: 12 months then eligible for Contract renewal
Role Type: W2 contract engagement
Schedule: Hybrid schedule (Tuesday - Thursday onsite) with weekend on-call rotation

Job Summary
A communications associate is a skilled professional supporting the client's electric operation through customer communication strategies, media relations, executive support, and internal communications. This individual will be working with internal teams to build and manage communication campaigns to achieve company goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports client's electric operations through customer communication strategies, media relations, executive support, and internal communications.
- Creates communication content for accuracy, brand voice, readability, and comprehensiveness as well as consistency.
- Plan social media strategy for paid campaigns on various social channels.
- Identifies story opportunities to share the client's commitment to the environment and community.
- Develops and maintains relationships with media contacts to establish an ongoing communications path for company issues, development, products, and services.
- Maintains a keen focus on delivering messaging to all stakeholders, including the media, clients, customers, and employees.
- Manages multiple projects with supervision, ensuring achievement of strategic communication objectives.
- Provides input to annual communication strategy.
- Researches topics and produces corresponding written communication.
- Fosters teamwork within departments and cross-functional teams.
Skill Requirements
- Experience running communication campaigns – social media, press releases, Media Statements
- Adherence to timelines and deadlines, well organized
- Copywriting and editing (marketing and/or PR emphasis)
- Microsoft Office
- PR Agency experience preferred
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, Advertising, or related field
- 3+ years of related experience
- Experience running communication campaigns
- Adherence to timelines and deadlines, well organized
- Proficient written and oral communication
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams and perform multiple, concurrent project work to achieve team goals and objectives
- Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines
