Location: Gibsonton, FL
Compensation: $120,000 – $130,000 base salary + 10% annual bonus
Employment Type: Full-Time, On-Site
The HRSG/HEP Engineer leads the development and continuous improvement of maintenance and monitoring strategies for Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs) and High Energy Piping (HEP) across the fleet. This mid-to-senior level role applies risk-based assessment, reliability engineering principles, and project management expertise to drive system reliability and performance.
Develop and execute risk-based reliability strategies for HRSG and HEP systems
Implement predictive monitoring plans to replace time-based maintenance
Prioritize and recommend capital improvements, inspections, and outage work
Lead engineering projects and provide technical oversight for plant initiatives
Support outage and project planning including specs, scheduling, and cost estimates
Conduct root cause analyses and manage reliability metrics
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (ABET accredited)
Experience: 6+ years in mechanical system design, implementation, or maintenance
Knowledge:
Strong expertise in HRSGs and HEP systems
NDE methods (e.g., VT, PT, PAUT, MT)
Welding principles and failure mechanisms
Power plant operations
Leadership: Ability to lead project teams and resolve technical issues
Certifications: None required; PE in Florida preferred
Master’s in Engineering or Engineering Management
5+ years in heavy industrial or power plant environments
Supervisory or mentoring experience
Reliability-centered maintenance knowledge
Strong project management, communication, and leadership skills
Must be able to climb, bend, and work in noisy, dusty environments
Willing to work irregular hours or holidays if needed
Must use PPE and follow safety protocols in a power plant setting
