Construction Project Manager

Location: Ann Harbor, MI
Job Type:  24 Month Contract

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Capital Project Manager to lead the design, construction, and/or commissioning of medium to large-scale renewable energy capital projects—including solar, wind, and energy storage. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with organizational goals. The role also includes mentoring junior team members and interfacing with multiple internal and external stakeholders across engineering, construction, regulatory, and supply chain functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the full lifecycle of renewable energy projects from scope development through construction and commissioning.

  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and regulatory teams to deliver projects efficiently.

  • Oversee project budgets, scheduling, and change management; manage vendor bids and contracting strategy.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, labor, and regulatory standards.

  • Serve as the main point of contact for project stakeholders and report regularly on progress and risks.

  • Facilitate on-site construction and manage contractors to ensure timely, quality delivery.

  • Mentor junior project managers, engineers, and interns or co-op students.

  • Evaluate and mitigate project risks and support regulatory approvals where needed.

Minimum Qualifications (One of the following):

Option 1:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Architecture, Construction Management, or Business

  • 6+ years of project management experience

  • Includes 2 years in large-scale construction or utility projects

  • 6+ months of experience in renewable energy (solar, wind, storage)

Option 2:

  • Associate degree in related field

  • 8+ years of project management experience

  • Includes 2 years in large-scale construction or utility projects

  • 6+ months of experience in renewable energy (solar, wind, storage)

Option 3:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 10+ years of project management experience

  • Includes 2 years in large-scale construction or utility projects

  • 6+ months of experience in renewable energy (solar, wind, storage)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

  • Experience in utility-scale renewable energy projects

  • Background in large-scale construction project execution

  • Familiarity with union labor organizations and blanket purchase orders

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
