Job Title: Instructional Designer
Duration: 6 months
W2 contract engagement, No c2c.
Schedule: Hybrid
Location: Southfield, MI
Key Skills:
Top 3 Required Skills include
- Minimum two years' experience utilizing multimedia tools such as Captivate and Camtasia.
- Experience in designing and developing computer-based training, storyboards, and lessons to be used in a variety of delivery media is required.
- Knowledge of instructional design principles to provide effective/efficient training solutions to business problems and effectively communicate recommendations to all levels of employees.
Job Summary:
An instructional designer is needed to complete the following tasks/activities:
- Conduct a need analysis to design and develop materials to support training and end-users for projects, implementations, and initiatives for internal, external, and self-service customers.
- Develop performance-based training and development systems to meet operational needs and requirements.
- Develop cross-trainings for various employees to carry out job functions.
- Interact with customer and subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy of instructional content.
- Conduct Train-the-Trainer sessions
- Evaluate documentation/training systems to ensure effectiveness. Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
- Report project statuses to various levels of management.
Required Skills: The rest of the required skills/experience. Include:
- Knowledge of adult learning theories with the ability to create content relevance by mapping courses with perceived learner needs and plan instructional strategies relevant for wide variety of adult learners.
- Ability to devise instructional strategies in alignment with real learning contexts and choose the technology that best supports the instructional strategy.
- Proven ability to reduce various types of Cognitive load that pertain to ILT and eLearning.
- Maintains a high degree of knowledge in existing and emerging learning methods; ability to assess and envision how these methods can be applied to course development efforts.
- Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem-resolution skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Two years of project management experience are preferred.
- Experience with documentation or training authorizing systems is preferred.
Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, Training & Development, or Technical Communications preferred.
