IT Support Engineer
Plano, TX – 100% onsite position
9-month with possibility of extension
W2 Rate - $30/hr
Seeking those with a Systems Engineer/Desktop Engineering background – will be supporting the building of a lab/data center and must have strong experience in both Mac OS and Windows OS
Skills / Experience required:
- Minimum of 3-5 years in a systems/desktop engineer position servicing HW/SW and ideally setting up large desktop infrastructures
- Experience in a production environment such as lab/data center is a must
- Must have the following technical skillset:
- Advanced Mac and Windows OS troubleshooting.
- Device management tools (JAMF, Intune, SCCM).
- Experience in labs or data centers.
- Knowledge of physical setup and lifecycle management.
- Attention to security and best practices.
- Ideal to have scripting experience
- Certifications: Any relevant IT certifications (e.g., A+, Network+, etc.) are a big plus but not required.
Your Day to Day:
- Will be supporting a Lab/Data Center build and must have strong Windows OS and Mac OS experience
- Maintain physical device lab with laptops, desktops, KVM switches, and mobile devices.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of devices: onboarding, maintenance, decommissioning, troubleshooting.
- Troubleshoot HW/SW issues for laptops, desktops, and mobile devices, with a focus on Mac OS and Windows.
- Test devices before production (e.g., Zoom functionality and other essential software).
- Work within a production environment and data center to ensure device uptime.
- Work with monitoring tools such as Aternity, MDM tools (JAMF, SCCM, Intune), to track device health.
- Apply best practices for security, both physical and software-related, in a lab and data center environment.
