Our client is a leading residential and commercial service provider in the Pacific Northwest, specializing in HVAC (70%), Plumbing (20%), and Electrical (10%) solutions. With a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and customer care, the company has grown to a $65M operation and employs over 200 team members. As they continue to scale, they are seeking an experienced General Manager who can lead, optimize, and strategically grow the business while maintaining a strong operational foundation and people-first culture.
The General Manager will serve as the operational and strategic leader for the organization, overseeing all divisions including HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical. This role is responsible for P&L performance, team development, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth. The ideal candidate is a strong operator and proven people leader with experience managing large-scale service businesses, driving revenue growth, and ensuring exceptional customer experiences.
This position reports directly to ownership and works closely with department heads, field leadership, and administrative teams to execute on both short-term objectives and long-term strategic initiatives.
Leadership & People Development
Lead, inspire, and develop a team of 200+ employees across service, install, sales, and administrative departments.
Foster a high-performance, accountability-driven culture rooted in teamwork, integrity, and customer satisfaction.
Build future leaders by identifying and developing internal talent through coaching and mentorship.
Partner with HR to enhance recruiting, training, and retention strategies that support continued growth.
Operational Excellence
Oversee daily operations across all business units to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met.
Implement and refine systems and processes that improve workflow, productivity, and consistency.
Ensure timely execution of projects, adherence to budgets, and alignment of operations with company goals.
Collaborate with department heads to identify bottlenecks and implement solutions for improved performance.
Financial Management & Strategic Growth
Manage full P&L responsibility for a $65M business, including budgeting, forecasting, and expense control.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for revenue and margin growth.
Develop and execute strategic business plans that support scalability and market expansion.
Drive sales growth through effective pricing strategies, market analysis, and operational optimization.
Customer & Brand Excellence
Maintain the company’s reputation for service excellence by ensuring high standards in every customer interaction.
Address escalated customer concerns with professionalism and urgency.
Ensure that all departments deliver a seamless, high-quality customer experience from initial contact through project completion.
10+ years of progressive leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a General Manager or multi-department leadership role within the trades (HVAC, Plumbing, or Electrical preferred).
Proven track record managing large P&L ($25M+ minimum) and leading teams of 100+ employees.
Strong operational background with expertise in systems, process improvement, and KPI management.
Demonstrated success in scaling a business while maintaining profitability and service quality.
Exceptional communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
Experience with industry software platforms (ServiceTitan, QuickBooks, CRM systems, etc.) is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
