Job Description
The Electrical Inspector is committed to ensuring project success, from providing thorough, consistent, and helpful inspections, to delivering meaningful and effective plan reviews.
Specifically:- The core responsibility of Electrical Inspector is to provide plan review and inspection services that maintain health and safety, are development friendly, focused on customer service, and are lean and efficient
- Work on harmonious teams with other inspectors, plan reviewers, and administrative staff
- Assist Project Directors and Project Managers in improving existing inspection and review systems
- Perform field inspections during various stages of construction
- Review plans and specifications for commercial, industrial, and residential projects to ensure compliance with city, state, and federal laws and regulations
- Perform Rental Housing inspections in accordance with municipal ordinances and regulations
- Report violations and maintain files/records
- Build relationships with current and future clients to increase awareness of our work products
Key Skills and Qualifications:- Must be licensed to enforce the State of Michigan Building Code, maintain registration as a code official with the Michigan Department of Labor, Bureau of Construction Codes, pursuant to Act 407, in the category of Electrical Inspector
- Interpretation of codes in the field and ability to provide code compliant solutions
- Ability to use permit and inspection tracking software a plus or ability to learn the software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Effective time management, organization, and attention to detail skills
- Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment
