We’re looking for a Michigan Licensed Building Inspector who’s passionate about keeping projects safe, compliant, and on track. This role is all about partnering with teams, providing fair and consistent inspections, and helping projects move forward smoothly.
What You’ll Do:
Review plans and perform inspections, serving as a go-to resource for building safety and code compliance
Collaborate with fellow inspectors, plan reviewers, and administrative staff to keep projects running harmoniously
Support Project Managers by finding ways to make our inspection and review process even better
Conduct field inspections at different stages of construction
Review plans and specifications for commercial, industrial, and residential projects, ensuring compliance with city, state, and federal laws
Perform Rental Housing inspections in line with municipal ordinances
Document findings, report violations, and maintain accurate records
What You Bring:
Current Michigan Building Inspector License
Experience using (or a willingness to learn) BS&A software
Act 407 and/or other relevant professional certifications are a plus
Strong communication skills—both written and verbal
Great time management, organization, and attention to detail
The ability to make sound judgments and take initiative
Five (5)+ years of experience in building services (municipal or private) with a solid understanding of construction and building codes
