Job Title: Lead HVAC Technician

Compensation: $25–$35/hour (DOE) + Commissions & Spiffs

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead HVAC Technician to join our growing team in Alpharetta, GA. In this key role, you will perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of residential HVAC systems. You’ll also provide outstanding customer service, educate homeowners on system options, and support the development of junior technicians through ride-alongs and technical mentorship.
Technical & Field Work
Service, repair, and install HVAC systems including: gas/electric furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductless systems, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, and air purification systems
Troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure systems are operating efficiently and safely
Test and inspect systems after service to confirm proper functionality
Perform system assessments and recommend replacements or upgrades when appropriate
Accurately document work completed, system details, customer discussions, and service charges
Customer Service & Sales
Educate customers on repair and replacement options using clear, solution-focused communication
Provide detailed cost-benefit analysis to assist customers in making informed decisions
Maintain a clean and respectful presence in customer homes, following all safety and courtesy protocols
Mentorship & Team Leadership
Support and mentor junior technicians, assisting with troubleshooting and best practices
Lead by example in professionalism, technical skill, and customer care
Participate in company training sessions and uphold all service standards
Operations & Reporting
Debrief with dispatch after each service call
Submit receipts, contracts, and service documentation daily
Maintain and organize the company vehicle and tools
Adhere to all safety protocols, codes, and company policies
Minimum 5 years of residential HVAC service experience (installation experience strongly preferred)
Strong knowledge of HVAC system components and operations
Familiar with local, state, and federal HVAC codes
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Must own required HVAC hand tools and diagnostic equipment
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Basic electrical knowledge (high and low voltage systems)
High School Diploma or GED (required)
EPA 608 Universal Certification (required)
NATE Certification (preferred)
Associate’s Degree in HVAC or related field (preferred)
Able to work in extreme temperatures and confined spaces (attics, crawlspaces, basements)
Ability to lift, push, pull, climb, stoop, kneel, and balance regularly
Must have visual acuity and depth perception for diagnostic work
All Lead Technicians must possess:
HVAC multimeter (reads microfarads, µ)
Digital/analog gauge & manifold set or Bluetooth probes
Cordless drill with batteries and charger
Full set of HVAC hand tools and PPE
