RCS Staffing has an immediate need for an Associate Technician in Vernon Hills, IL. This is a full-time contract-to-hire On-Site assignment with our client. This position offers a competitive package. 

Overview of YOUR role as an Associate Technician

As an Associate Technician, you will support the Metrology Lab by performing measurements and calibrations on instruments that measure pressure, temperature, time, rotational motion, flow, electrical current, voltage, resistance, and other physical or chemical quantities. You will work under the direction of qualified Metrology Technicians, assist with calibration setup and procedures, and prepare calibration reports that document methods, measured data, measurement uncertainties, and NIST traceability.

As an Associate Technician YOU will:

· Perform calibrations on customer and internal measuring instruments under the direction of Metrology Technicians
· Use assigned calibration standards and follow calibration procedures
· Document all aspects of calibration events in the Mudcats database
· Review contracts and work orders to confirm work can be completed properly
· Assist customers with traceability and procedural questions and help resolve technical contract issues
· Quantify sources of measurement error and determine measurement uncertainty
· Support preventative maintenance and laboratory safety and housekeeping programs
· Assist with calibration process setup and related paperwork
· Complete administrative tasks for incoming calibrations
· Perform other duties as assigned

YOU are the ideal Associate Technician candidate if you have:

· Strong aptitude for absorbing technical concepts and applying them to measurement situations (required)
· Above-average mechanical skills (required)
· Commitment to high-quality work that meets ISO 17025 and ANSI/Z540-1 requirements (required)
· Analytical skills to identify sources of measurement error and interpret technical specifications and calibration procedures (required)
· Ability to follow instruction from experienced metrologists and complete tasks as directed
· Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to stand 50-75% of the time and lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance (required)

It’s a BONUS if you have:

· Metrology, calibration, or laboratory experience
· Familiarity with ISO 17025 or ANSI/Z540-1 standards
· Experience with NIST traceability and calibration reporting
· Experience with calibration database systems
