RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Power and Electronics Engineering Manager in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. This is a full-time, direct-hire assignment with our client. Overview of YOUR Role as a Power and Electronics Engineering Manager
In this senior leadership role, you will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for facility electrical power systems, machine power distribution, machine control electronics, and electrical hardware design at a highly regulated, safety-critical facility. You will ensure safe, reliable, and compliant electrical systems across the facility while supporting new equipment integration, upgrades, troubleshooting, and capital project delivery. This role carries significant technical authority you will serve as the Electrical Authority Having Jurisdiction for the site.
As a Power and Electronics Engineering Manager, YOU Will:
Lead and develop a team of electrical power and electronics engineers and technicians, driving performance, professional growth, and technical excellence.
Oversee design, installation, and maintenance of facility electrical power systems including 480V/240V distribution, switchgear, MCCs, UPS, and generators.
Own electrical standards, safety compliance (NEC, NFPA 70E, UL, CE), and all related documentation across the facility.
Provide engineering support for machine-level electrical systems including power distribution, drives, controls electronics, sensors, and wiring.
Partner with Facilities, Manufacturing, and Automation teams on equipment installations and upgrades.
Lead root-cause analysis for electrical failures, downtime events, and equipment reliability issues.
Ensure electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and PLC/electronics interfaces are maintained and kept current.
Manage external contractors, integrators, and vendors as required to support facility electrical programs.
Drive continuous improvement in power reliability, energy efficiency, and electrical safety across the site.
Provide capital project support including scope development, design review, and commissioning activities.
Serve as the Electrical Authority Having Jurisdiction for the facility.
YOU Are the Ideal Power and Electronics Engineering Manager Candidate If You Have:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in power electronics design and development.
Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams in a technical environment.
Strong knowledge of electrical standards and safety compliance NEC, NFPA 70E, UL, and CE.
Knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, PCB layout, and simulation tools.
The ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" level security clearance (required for this position).
It's a BONUS If You Have:
An active DOE "Q" level security clearance candidates with an active clearance will be prioritized.
Experience in the manufacturing or nuclear industry.
Project management experience supporting capital projects from scope development through commissioning.
Familiarity with embedded systems and firmware development.
Prior experience serving as Electrical Authority Having Jurisdiction or in a comparable technical authority role.
