RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Modification Manager in Piketon, Ohio. This is a full-time, direct-hire assignment with our client. This position offers a competitive base salary, is bonus eligible, and includes a comprehensive benefits package with vacation and holidays.
Overview of YOUR Role as a Modification Manager:
In this role, you will lead the full life-cycle delivery of facility and system modifications at a DOE-contracted nuclear energy facility operating in a highly regulated, safety-critical environment. You will be accountable for defining scope, managing design and construction activities, and guiding each modification through engineering change control to turnover and close-out. This is a high-visibility, cross-functional leadership role requiring demonstrated expertise in cost, schedule, risk, and configuration management and a genuine commitment to nuclear-grade safety culture.
As a Modification Manager, YOU Will:
Lead all stages of the Engineering Change and Modification process from initiation, scoping, and design through installation, commissioning, turnover, and close-out ensuring alignment with Engineering Change Control and Configuration Management procedures.
Develop and maintain project baselines across scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, and stakeholder registers; author project management plans, perform change control, and meet established performance objectives.
Coordinate multidiscipline engineering teams, construction contractors, maintenance staff, and plant operations to ensure design packages, work plans, and field execution comply with applicable codes, standards, and nuclear quality requirements.
Prepare and defend cost estimates, procurement packages, and forecasts; manage budgets and support negotiations with vendors and customers as required.
Champion a nuclear-grade safety culture, perform hazard analyses, and participate in DOE/NRC audits; ensure modifications satisfy NQA-1, 10 CFR, OSHA, NFPA, and site licensing requirements.
Provide clear, timely status reports, risk registers, and decision logs to senior management and external regulators; maintain project records in approved document-control systems.
Lead constructability, operability, maintainability, and safety (COMS) reviews and coordinate outage or site-access schedules as required.
YOU Are the Ideal Modification Manager Candidate If You Have:
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
5+ years of experience managing multidisciplinary engineering or plant-modification projects in nuclear, chemical processing, or similarly regulated industries.
Demonstrated success controlling scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, and configuration for capital or sustaining-plant modifications.
Proficiency with integrated project controls tools such as Primavera P6 and MS Project.
Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and written communication skills you are comfortable presenting technical and financial data to executive and regulatory audiences.
The ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" level security clearance (required for this position).
It's a BONUS If You Have:
An active DOE "Q" clearance or Top Secret clearance candidates with an active clearance will be prioritized.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent credential (APM, IPMA).
Experience leading COMS reviews and coordinating outage or site-access schedules in a nuclear or regulated process environment.
Prior experience at a DOE site, nuclear facility, or similarly regulated federal energy program.
Familiarity with uranium enrichment, chemical processing, or advanced nuclear fuel cycle operations.
