RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Solar/BESS Electrical Engineer in Remote/Hybrid (multiple US locations available). This is a full-time contract-to-hire Remote/Hybrid assignment with our client. This position offers a competitive package including benefits, vacation and holidays.

Overview of YOUR role as a Solar/BESS Electrical Engineer

As a Solar/BESS Electrical Engineer, you will provide electrical engineering design support for renewable energy projects across the country. You will work on solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage systems (BESS) design for utility-scale and distributed energy projects. This role requires a technical leader with diverse renewable energy experience committed to quality project delivery and innovative solutions.

As a Solar/BESS Electrical Engineer YOU will:

· Perform electrical engineering design work on assigned renewable projects under guidance of senior staff
· Design solar PV and BESS systems including array layouts, DC string sizing, and utility interconnections
· Perform solar PV and BESS energy production modeling
· Develop construction and equipment specifications
· Perform engineering calculations including conductor sizing, overcurrent protection, voltage drop, and conduit sizing
· Support construction drawing development including one-lines and network diagrams
· Estimate PV and BESS system costs and payback evaluations
· Design DC and low to medium voltage power distribution systems
· Support projects through complete lifecycle from feasibility through commissioning
· Work with Project Managers on design schedules and budgets
· Participate in meetings and present technical findings

YOU are the ideal Solar/BESS Electrical Engineer candidate if you have:

· Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred)
· 4+ years of relevant renewable energy experience (required)
· Design and integration experience with utility-scale renewable and battery storage systems (required)
· Strong understanding of NEC and related codes
· Proficiency with engineering software and design tools
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to perform system financial estimation and ROI calculations
· Experience with AC collection systems and power distribution design

It's a BONUS if you have:

· Professional Engineering (PE) license
· 8+ years of relevant renewable energy experience
· Proficiency with industry software (PlantPredict, PVSyst, Homer, NREL SAM, etc.)
· MV AC collection system design experience
· Protection and controls experience
· Power system modeling experience (ETAP, SKM)
· Familiarity with utility practices and standards (NESC, IEEE, PIP)
· Field construction and commissioning experience
· Experience with emerging technologies (floating PV, fuel cells, agrivoltaics)
