Job Description

RCS Staffing has an immediate need for an Engineer 3 in Houston, TX. This is a full-time contract-to-permanent hire, office-based assignment with our client. This position offers a competitive compensation package and the opportunity to join a growing team within the utility industry.

Overview of YOUR role as an Engineer 3

This is the third level of the Engineering classification. The Engineer 3 provides engineering and technical expertise to solve complex problems while demonstrating leadership within their area of specialization. This position requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage multiple priorities, and contribute to the successful execution of engineering projects and initiatives.

As an Engineer 3 YOU will:

• Provide engineering and technical expertise in the identification, analysis, and resolution of complex engineering problems.
• Plan, organize, estimate, schedule, and monitor engineering work activities to ensure successful project execution.
• Prepare accurate technical reports, calculations, correspondence, documentation, and engineering sketches.
• Continuously enhance engineering knowledge, technical skills, and professional performance.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders through written and verbal communication.
• Maintain accurate records, files, and project documentation.
• Provide leadership and guidance to team members while managing multiple tasks and priorities.

YOU are the ideal Engineer 3 candidate if you have:

• 4 to 8 years of experience as a practicing engineer or current state registration as a Professional Engineer (PE).
• Proficiency in engineering theories, principles, and practices.
• Experience researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, and developing sound recommendations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.

It’s a BONUS if you have:

• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Proficiency in project management principles and methodologies.
• Previous experience within the utility industry.
• Demonstrated leadership experience mentoring or guiding engineering teams.
• Strong customer-focused mindset and team-oriented approach.
