RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Construction Manager in Miami, FL (75%-100% travel required). This is a full-time contract Field Based assignment with our client. This position offers a competitive package including benefits, vacation and holidays.
Overview of YOUR role as a Construction Manager
As a Construction Manager, you will provide daily construction, administrative, and technical management of renewable construction projects delivering energy savings for public, institutional, government, and commercial customers. NOTE: This is a travelling position that will require a 75-100% travel commitment.
As a Construction Manager YOU will:
· Provide daily construction, administrative and technical management of renewable construction projects delivering energy savings for public, institutional, government and commercial customers
· Assist the Senior Project Manager as required with project accounting, budgeting, project schedule and tracking, reporting quality management and internal communications
· Ensure compliance with our client's financial policies and procedures to include revenue recognition policies and project set up rules
· Serve and assist as a liaison between the business office and operations
· Direct interface with our client's customers managing customer service, relationships and contractual obligations
· Assist the Engineering and Development team and the Senior Project Manager in project design and development including scope, subcontractor selection, cost estimation, installation and project scheduling
· Regularly monitor assigned project performance and cost estimates to forecast estimates through to project completion for reasonableness against plans and actual expense rate
· Review subcontractor and vendor bids solicited by the Senior Project Manager to help determine scope, schedule, timely delivery for all project related materials, equipment and construction services
· Assist the Senior Project Manager in managing vendors and subcontractors to ensure quality control, project delivery on time and on budget while meeting or exceeding customer expectations
· Directly manage construction managers (site supervisors) as assigned to ensure quality control, project delivery on time and on budget while meeting or exceeding customer expectations
· Maintain and update project schedules to reflect current information, monitor critical path activities and tracking of outstanding items
· Provide a detailed 2 week look schedule to facilitate customer coordination and planning
· Assist the Senior Project Manager in managing project expenditures and job cost accounting processes: including accuracy, documentation, approvals, payment reporting, monthly forecasting and tracking
· Ensure compliance with company, industry, customer and jurisdictional safety standards, practices and codes
· Perform other duties as required
YOU are the ideal Construction Manager candidate if you have:
· High school diploma or the equivalent
· Minimum of 5+ years of construction management experience in Miami (required)
· Strong background in electrical construction (required)
· Experience with lighting controls, especially systems that tie back to central control (required)
· Experience in electrical, mechanical, or engineering construction project management focusing on renewable energy projects, especially PV
· Ability to travel 75-100% of the time
· Proven experience with OSHA safety standards
· Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and foster positive business relationships
· Strong verbal, written, computer, technical communication and presentation skills
· Proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Project
· Valid Driver's License in good standing, issued by resident state
It's a BONUS if you have:
· Controls experience
· PV / solar experience
· Bachelor's degree or completion or progress toward engineering, technical, or industry related education
· Demonstrated work experience with several of the following energy efficiency disciplines - direct digital energy controls systems, variable frequency drives, high efficiency motors, central plant chiller and boiler installations, lighting retrofits, renewable energy technology, warranty and service requirements
· Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems development, engineering, and project management regulations, practices, and codes
· Experience with job cost accounting and financial management processes
